Melange for nail decoration is a decorative material made of tiny, lightweight particles that resemble colored sugar or microscopic beads. Its main feature is the unique texture and the combination of several shades in each mix, which gives the coating a sense of depth, shimmer, and volume.
Melange creates a soft, velvety, or “sugar” effect on the nail surface. It is often used as an accent in nail designs, adding delicacy or, on the contrary, a bold highlight depending on the color palette.
How to apply melange on nails
1. Nail preparation:
Perform standard nail preparation — remove the shine, apply a base coat and color.
If melange is used as an accent, select one or several nails for decoration.
Application on a sticky layer of gel polish or top coat:
Apply the color coat and cure it.
Choose a layer with a sticky residue (gel polish or top coat).
Gently sprinkle the melange onto the nail using an orange stick, brush, or fingers.
Lightly press the particles so they adhere firmly.
Cure in the lamp.
Optionally, seal with a thin layer of top coat for a smooth surface, or leave unsealed for a “sugar” effect.
Tips:
Use a flat or fan brush for precise application.
Do not over-cure the top coat before applying the melange, or the particles may not adhere.
Excess decoration can be easily brushed off after curing.
